Tomb Raider has always felt like a Sony game to me so this news shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise. Though I don’t know why I see Tomb Raider as being a PlayStation game as most of my Lara time was spent behind a PC but there you have it.
Anyway according to GamesIndustry.biz the latest iteration of Tomb Raider has sold 51% of it’s units on the PS3, 34% on the 360 and the remaining bunch on the PC, DS and Wii.
They also go onto mention that Tomb Raider Underworld only beat last years Tomb Raider by 6700 units, though since we aren’t told hold many were sold we can’t really judge if that is good or not. But the Tomb Raider games have good legs (stop sniggering) and sales should carry on for a decent amount time.
Oh and the rumours about us only posting about Tomb Raider because of the boobies are categorically untrue… I promise.
Actually, in hindsight, this came out the same week as Left 4 dead, LIPS and the Last Remnant Which are all 360 exclusive, so it’s not unexpected that it wouldn’t do so well.

GTA was also traditionally a PS game and so are the Crash Bandicoot games. XBOX Original didn’t do too well and many many 360 owners are ex-PS2 owners, and would love to see their favourite franchises on the 360.
Simply put, 3rd party can go either way regardless of PS2 popularity.

Nice job Eidos… you’re offering DLC for the Xbox 360… idiots. That’s what happens when you forecast sales…

MS prolly paid ‘em again to get exclusive DLC.
Maybe after Uncharted the PS3 owners are looking forward to something similar again, therefore all the sales?
