Well, sort of.

With the new Avatar system being integrated into the new Xbox 360 dashboard, some people have been hard at work (read: bored) creating avatar versions of some of their favorite characters and people including Super Mario, Kratos, Chuck Norris and more.

Game characters, movie stars and political figures are in the line-up and heck even some really bad creations are in there too. I have posted a couple after the jump but you can check out the rest of them by following the link at the bottom of the article.

Can someone please explain to me how it’s fine to create
an avatar or creature in Spore of a copy righted character,
but you’re not allowed to create a level in LBP based on the
same principles? What’s the difference? You don’t make any money from it? I’m just curious as I don’t know how the law
works with regards to these things.

I dont undestand how some companies freak out so much over these little things. It can really get quite annoying. I will laugh if anyone with avatars like this get a message over Live telling them that then have to change the settings.

Exactly.Hell,I’d be flattered if someone paid homage
to a creation of mine. With some free publicity in
the process.Obviously not so much if they sell the stuff,
but otherwise,what’s the big deal?
I’m just interested as to how the law seperates the
2 instances I mentioned as it’s quite confusing to me.
