Call of Duty Classic Region Locked – South African Xbox Live Users Shafted AGAIN | |
| Geoff - December 2nd, 2009 at 3:00 pm - 152 views - 9 Comments |
You know how we told you recently that Call of duty Classic was coming to Xbox Live and PSN soon, and that Xbox live users needn’t fear it being blocked on account of its Teen rating?
Well we were bloody wrong. Because the game isn’t available in Germany – likely because of that whole Nazi thing, it won’t be available in countries that don’t have official Xbox Live support. Countries like South Africa. Sorry Xbox users, but you’re going to have to employ a VPN if you really want to shoot at Ze Chermans. The game should be available tomorrow for South African PSN users though, because you lot aren’t treated like 3rd rate citizens of nowhere.
Thanks to eXp for the tip.

It’s a pity it was region blocked from the get go. Was hoping that the normal “2 hours of grace” would be granted but sadly not.

So guys with the CoD 4 Hardened edition (NVGs) couldnt get it either? Sometimes XBL has its disadvantages as PSN’s version of CoD Classic isnt region locked. PSN +1.

As far as I know, Sherman is the weird dude who lives down the road from me.
He smells of boiled broccoli.

It works fine on PSN. We’re not second class citizens there, but at least on live we can buy f***ing pets for our avatars.
