No LittleBigPlanet Sequel Confirmed LBP2 Lazygamer

This news makes sense in a lot of ways but that doesn’t mean that I have to like it.

LittleBigPlanet creators Media Molecule have confirmed that there will be no sequel to LittleBigPlanet. As a matter of fact, they are quite against it. I really love LittleBigPlanet, it’s one of the most fun games I have played in recent years and just oozes of classic videogame greatness.

So why then, is there no sequel coming?

According to the guys, a sequel would be counterproductive. Danny Leaver had the following to say with regards to LittleBigPlanet specifically:

“I think what you’ve seen so far from LittleBigPlanet, that’s the way it’s going to continue.”

I think that Media Molecule are capable of great things, so I am looking forward to the next project that they work on but deep down I still hope that a sequel will be on the cards one day in the not too distant future.

In a way i’m happy about it. LBP was a great game. Releasing a new version a year or two later would kinda kill a lot of aspects about the game.

I think developers are focusing too much on getting sequels out instead of worrying about the current version which is out.

L4D2 is a great example. I feel they kind of screwed the L4D guys over by releasing the sequel so soon. Games now days have DLC and addons which offer long term playablity to the games.
