FIFA World Cup South Africa Trailer FifaWorldCupSouthAfricaLady thumb Lazygamer

The headline pretty much says it all… but since it’s my rule that there needs to be a decent amount of text I guess I could also tell you that the music is awesome and the fact that there is a huge videogame based on a South African event is fantastic.

For those that are interested the song is called Wavin’ Flags by K’naan.

Gran Turismo 5 : NASCAR

Gran Turismo 5 : NASCAR DaysOfThunder thumb Lazygamer

I spotted a new trailer out yesterday for GT5 that promoted the new NASCAR game mode but to be honest I just ignored it as I’m not a NASCAR fan or much of a racing fan.

But since it was brought up in the comments and we are short staffed this week I thought it would be a nice easy one to post up anyway, and yet I have to admit that the video really has me hooked.

I am tempted to get the game just to relive my Days of Thunder fantasy’s.

Pach-Attack: The Infinity Ward Saga

LazySAGamer - March 10th, 2010 at 9:30 am - 134 Views - 3 Comments

Pach Attack

Michael Pachter weighs into the Infinity Ward / Activision saga in this weeks Pach-Attack which I guess is very relevant to his day job analysing the financial probabilities of the gaming industry.

On a side note he still only has a pile of Xbox 360 titles behind him on his desk, he really does need to mix some extra platforms into that.

And does he call us “fellow babies” in this video?

Alan Wake fights the “Harvester of Sorrow”

LazySAGamer - March 10th, 2010 at 7:30 am - 118 Views - 2 Comments

Alan Wake

If we ever get around to posting up an article with the stupidest names every used in video games I fully expect the Harvester of Sorrow to be right up there.

However that being said I guess we need to give Alan Wake some points for being the first game ever where we get to fight a combine harvester, the entire clip doesn’t fill me with joy about the game but the creepiness factor comes through pretty well at least.

Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (Video)

Prince of Persia

The first video footage of Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands has been released and all worries that this is going to be yet another ugly movie tie in appear to be misplaced.

Not only does the game look awesome but the ability to alter the elements to help you complete the stage is an awesome addition.

Pure Football… I’m excited

Pure Football… I’m excited PureFootball thumb Lazygamer

When I received a PR email about Ubisoft releasing a new Football game my first reaction was to ignore it.

No offense to Ubisoft but there is no way they could come into this genre and take on the might of EA’s FIFA series with a first attempt.

But then being the diligent worker that I am I decided to watch the attached video anyway… you have to buy this game.

Vanessa Haywood

On this episode of GameState’s celebrity Co-op we see our usual host, Grant Hinds, taking on the beautiful Vanessa Haywood of District 9 fame in a game of Wii boxing.

They chat about a sequel to District 9 along with why the Halo movie hasn’t yet been made.

They also touch on what Vanessa likes to play and what her plans for the future are. It’s well worth watching and it’s great that we have something with a local flavour.

What? Second Portal Patch Adds Alternate Ending

Nick de Bruyne - March 4th, 2010 at 1:00 pm - 332 Views - 3 Comments

What? Second Portal Patch Adds Alternate Ending portalcoffee Lazygamer

The recent Portal patch has been causing quite a stir due to the hidden images embedded into radio sounds, which on its own is just too awesome for words already.

What we didn’t already know is that a second patch that has been released has altered the game’s ending cinematic, providing even more evidence to suggest a Portal 2 announcement in the near future.

Too lazy to load up and play the entire game again with the new patch to see alternate ending? Well, this just happens to be Lazygamer, where we cater to your lack of motivation and have posted up the video for you to view with minimal effort.

Hit the jump and watch it now.

There isn’t much I can tell you about this weeks review without ruining the mood of it so.. I won’t.

This week Yahtzee takes on Bioshock 2 and it’s one of his better ones but unbelievably the language is a little worse than usual.

[Confirmed as Official] Halo Reach Multiplayer Beta Trailer – not bad at all HaloReachMPBeta thumb Lazygamer

[Geoff mentioned it yesterday as a rumour but overnight Bungie has confirmed virtually everything so here is our official posting on the new Halo Reach Multiplayer Beta video]

While not being the biggest Halo fan I do still have to take my hat off to Bungie and Microsoft when it comes to marketing their game.

Every single time a new version of Halo is preparing to get released I get sucked into the hype and end up really looking forward to it’s release.

With Halo Reach I wasn’t even remotely interested but then this video was released and now I am hooked.

NSFW: If The Movie Se7en Was Made Like Heavy Rain

NSFW: If The Movie Se7en Was Made Like Heavy Rain SevenRain Lazygamer

I don’t know about any of you, but when I was playing Heavy Rain it felt like a large part of the atmosphere was very similar to that of the movie Se7en with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman.

Sure, Se7en (feeling silly writing this name already…) was a lot more brutal in so many ways, but it definitely sprung to mind when playing Heavy Rain a few times. So ask yourself the question, what if Se7en was made as an interactive game like Heavy Rain?

Well thanks to a few blokes and that YouTube system-machine you can see just how well the Heavy Rain interactive system could actually work when applied to already existing movies.

The video is great, check it out after the jump.

Psycho girlfriend smashes Xbox 360 after losing at MW2 CrazyGirl thumb Lazygamer

Console smashing videos are the latest craze and it’s pretty hard to tell whether they are staged or reality.

I am guessing this one is staged thanks to the perfectly placed camera but at the same time she really does destroy the Xbox and he looks pretty horrified by the entire experience.

Check Out Some New Uncharted 2 DLC Gameplay FloodedRuins Lazygamer

Gametrailers have just uploaded this sweet gameplay footage of the new Uncharted 2 multiplayer DLC map called Flooded Ruins. Also included in the pack is another map called Facility, new trophies and medals, as well as all your favorite folks’ skins.

The map is based on environments from Drake’s Fortune and anyone who played the first game will instantly recognise the area, although looking a lot less peachy than before. If you are a fan of Uncharted 2’s multiplayer than make sure you download the new pack.

It’s already available and will set your back R45.00. Video after the jump.

In celebration of the Winter Olympics Ubisoft has released a quick video of the Rabbids trying their hand at Bobsleighing.

It’s awesome.
