Rumour : Infinity Ward Staffers Staying at Activision HappyMoneyKotick Lazygamer

You’d expect that with unceremonious, but scandalous ousting of Jason West and Vince Zampella, staff at Modern Warfare developers Infinity Ward would be leaving en masse. They’re not though.

The reasons for this – while hardly surprising, considering this is Activision – are still shocking. Hit the jump to read more.

Resistance 3 to be announced on Friday Resistance2 thumb Lazygamer

Jan Meijroos is a crew member of the biggest Dutch gaming show, GameKings. You have just learned this invaluable information because he has just become famous for tweeting that Sony will officially announce Resistance 3 on Friday and that it will land later this year.

Well that is what I am told he said, the Google translation of the original site leaves a lot to be desired.

Security surrounds Infinity Wards… no one knows why? [Updated] Bouncers thumb Lazygamer

[Another Update]: It appears Activision broadcast their intentions on this one by informing the SEC that due to a human resource investigation into 2 senior IW employees they are expecting the departure of key personnel and litigation… ouch.

[Update] Jason West has Tweeted that he is now drinking and unemployed and has updated his LinkedIn page to state that he no longer works at Infinity Ward. (G4TV)

More news to follow

[Original Story]

How’s this for an odd story doing the rounds.

Apparently Infinity Ward’s heads, Vince Zampella and Jason West, went to meet with Activision this morning to discuss a few problems they are currently experiencing.

Say it isn’t so – Crackdown 2 delayed

LazySAGamer - March 1st, 2010 at 7:30 am - 161 Views - 2 Comments

Crackdown 2

At the moment there is nothing concrete but Peter Molyneux may have accidently let out the news that Crackdown 2 has been delayed.

This delay would be a similar delay to the constant GT5 delays seeing as that no release date has been announced yet but it was widely expected to land in May or June and now we have dear old Peter stating that there will be a secret Crackdown 2 announcement at E3 this year.

New Natal Prototype Is “More Precise”

Nick de Bruyne - February 24th, 2010 at 10:30 am - 244 Views - 9 Comments

New Natal Prototype Is More Precise emopwnerer Lazygamer

Yesterday, I posted this article here about the the input lag when using Project Natal and how it may affect its games.

What we didn’t know is that Microsoft weren’t content with the hardware that they showed off at E3 and have been steadily working on a new prototype that is much better.

When the E3 Natal hardware was put to the test, it managed an average of 1/10th of a second, meaning that fast paced games like shooters may have some issues when it comes down to the responsiveness of the controls.

In the UK, Channel 5’s The Gadget Show were given the chance to try out the E3 Natal hardware and were pretty impressed. Jason Bradbury, who is both a gamer and an expert of technological thingamajigs the revealed the news about the new prototype.

UK Celebrity Tweets Project Natal Release Date Ross Lazygamer

Something that I have never understood, is the fact that companies let random celebrities get their hands on their yet to be released products.

Granted, it gives their product some very good coverage but sometimes, in a case just like this, they get more than they bargained for. For those of you who don’t know him, Jonathan Ross is a UK TV presenter, and quite a popular one at that.

He recently had the chance to spend some time with Natal, and that night, right before bed, he let its release date slip via Twitter.

Wii HD has to be in the works WiiHD thumb Lazygamer

The Nintendo execs have been dropping hints again about a new piece of hardware currently in development over at Nintendo HQ.

At the moment there is absolutely nothing solid about what the piece of hardware is but the current top guesses are a motion controlled DS and a Wii HD.

Personally a motion controlled DS sounds incredibly stupid and a Wii HD sounds entirely logical so I am going for the second one.

Halo Reach To Support Natal? Possible First Proof?9 halonatal Lazygamer

Some sharp eyes at Connected Consoles spotted something rather strange in one of the leaked Halo Reach direct feed screenshots that we have already seen.

Did you see it? I know I didn’t. Now that you have the opportunity, take a look at that image and tell me what in the heck that crosshair is doing there? The folks from Connected Consoles seem to think that it could be proof that the game will support Project Natal.

I think that they might be right.

[Updated] Cliff Bleszinski To Announce Gears of War 3/Natal Game Very Soon? epicNatal Lazygamer

Are you ready for some great news? Well, Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski thinks that you should be.

Why is that exactly? Well, because yesterday evening he announced what will probably be an announcement of an announcement. Yes, you read that right. Making the use of his Twitter account, the artist formerly known as Cliffy B had the following to say to his followers:

“Kick ass news soon. VERY soon. Watch this space…”

It seems like we have an upcoming announcement from Epic and it sounds like it might be a biggie. So what could it be? Is it that obvious?

I don’t know so much.

[Update]
Looks like this may be the incredibly underwhelming “Kick ass” news.  Gears of War characters to appear in Lost Planet 2.
Aren’t we all thrilled?

Heavy Rain Demo Hits PSN In February

Nick de Bruyne - January 22nd, 2010 at 1:00 pm - 330 Views - One Comment

Heavy Rain Demo Hits PSN In February EUPSBlogHeavyRain Lazygamer

The first quarter of this year is jam packed with some heavy hitters and out of those titles, there are some that I simply cannot wait to get my hands on. Heavy Rain is one of them.

Thanks to reply in the comments section of a post on the Official European Playstation Blog from one of the staff, one Mike Kebby, we now know that there will be a demo for Heavy Rain available in the Playstation Store on February 11.

Now, since this isn’t an official announcement, and mistakes do happen, we will have to file this one under rumour until we have word from the right people.

I hope it’s true, although there is that part of me who wants to experience the game fully with the full release rather than only play a short segment of it.

Rumour : PS3 Motion control Named “Arc” LoveWand Lazygamer

Gem? No, that sounds stupid. Sphere? Better, but it doesn’t quite have much impact behind it. Love Wand? Perfect, but probably not suitable for mass market…*ahem* penetration.

According to VG247, a sneaky ninja source  – speaking under conditions of anonymity (or DEATH!) – the newfangled wagglerods will be marketed under the moniker of “Arc”.

EA Sports to make a New NBA Jam? NBAJAM Lazygamer

Midway is dead. Warner Bros. picked up its festering barely re-animated corpse, along with most of its intellectual property (Braaaaaaaaains!). One licence that they didn’t acquire though is a particular favourite of mine, and if the rumours are right is one that we may see again – courtesy of EA Sports.

According to ESPN, EA sports have been tasked with bringing the NBA Jam series back to life, under the helm of Mark Turmell – the series original creator – who now works for EA.

Michael Jackson confirmed as a composer on Sonic 3 Sonic3 thumb Lazygamer

Apparently it was a well known industry secret that Michael Jackson composed some of the soundtrack for a Sonic game… and apparently I am missing out on a ton of well known industry secrets… but anyway.

According to an interview with Brad Buxer, no idea who he is, Michael Jackson did in fact co-compose some soundtracks for Sonic 3 but after hearing the dodgy quality of the music coming from the machine he requested that his name not be put in the credits as he didn’t want his music devalued.

Check the English version of the interview through the break.

Mystery game teased – Stranglehold 2?

Mystery game teased – Stranglehold 2? HongKong thumb Lazygamer

Stranglehold wasn’t one of the better quality titles of the last couple of years but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t fun. In fact it is still one of my top rated games of the entire generation purely because of the fun factor that comes from dodging bullets in slow motion and bursting through a room with white doves flying everywhere.

But was it good enough to get a sequel? A new mystery trailer has now been revealed by Spike TV that may possibly be Stranglehold 2. I don’t actually think it will be but I can dream.

Duke-Nukem

It has to happen, whether this is all a hoax or not you know it’s going to happen sometime.

A new page has just popped up on Facebook for something called Duke Nukem D-Day which just has to stand for Duke Day.

There has previously been a Duke game called D-Day for the PS2 that was cancelled so maybe 3DRealms are planning on revisiting that storyline seeing that DNF appears to truly be dead and buried now?

Can we survive another Duke Nukem development experience?
