Dead Space 2 First Look: Scary + Awesome = Scary Awesome

Dead Space 2 First Look: Scary + Awesome = Scary Awesome DeadSpace2fweep Lazygamer

Games Radar have gotten a first look at Dead Space 2 and while the game is still pretty far from finished, it’s looking mighty impressive.

Dead Space 2 will take place in a mining colony on the rings of Saturn and happens 3 years after the events from the first game. There are new features, new weapons and most importantly, new things to brown your pants and tear your limbs from your body.

I still have to finish the first game, but I’m still being a pansy about it, but now that the second game is coming it’s pushing me to carry on, damn it.

Full preview can be found here .

Aliens Vs Predator: Hands On Preview So... An Alien, A Marine And A Predator Walk Into A Bar... AvP Header Lazygamer

The Aliens vs Predator videogame franchise has been going for quite some time and has always had a very decent following. This, due to the fact that they have all been pretty good not to mention that the multiplayer modes were some of the best in the business.

Movies have also surfaced over the last couple of years using the same title but don’t be fooled as the videogames are not some sort of licensed attempt at a silver screen to videogame console conversion, these babies have been going for a while now.

With the new title’s release on the horizon, we’ve had hands on time with the game to find out if this next offering is worthy of it’s predecessors’ good name.

Early Preview: Red Dead Redemption Part 1 RDRfeature1 Lazygamer

Last week Friday I was lucky enough to be invited to an early preview of Rockstar’s upcoming open world western, Red Dead Redemption, which is the sequel to it’s 2004 release Red Dead Revolver.

Red Dead Redemption is a huge open world, free roaming western-styled sandbox game. You play as John Marston, a partially reformed outlaw who attempted to get away from a career of crime by living out his days peacefully on his ranch with his family.

That was until the Bureau (future FBI) arrived with a request that he couldn’t turn down… the line between good and evil is about to be obliterated.

This means that every person, player and NPC you encounter in this amazing Star Wars universe will be able to interact with you in full high quality voice over.

Lazygamer Wet Demo: Hands On Preview Wethandson Lazygamer

So as you have already heard, the demo for Wet is available to download on the Xbox 360 and we have gotten our hands on it to bring you a hands-on with the upcoming action flick, I mean game.

Wet borrows its style from a mixture of Tarantino movies, with a specific nod to Kill Bill as your very angry gun and sword wielding leading lady Rubi takes out anything in her path with a gritty 80’s Grindhouse sort of feeling.

Find out if we think if this game is going to be a Royale With Cheese or not.

E3 2009: James Cameron’s Avatar Interview

E3 2009: James Camerons Avatar Interview 200906061650 Lazygamer

The Avatar game, if you don’t already know is based on James Cameron’s new sci-fi film. Cameron is the mastermind behind such awesome film titles as Terminator (1 & 2), Aliens and loads of other awesomeness, while Ubisoft develops the game version.

The Avatar game is said to take the player into the very heart of an amazingly designed alien planet known as Pandora. The official PR line of the game states that,

“Gamers will encounter the Na’vi, Pandora’s indigenous people and discover other life forms the likes of which have never been seen in the world of video games before. When conflict erupts between the RDA Corporation, a space-faring consortium in search of valuable resources, and the Na’vi, gamers will find themselves thrust into a fight for the heart of a planet and the fate of a civilization.”

After watching the vids and taking a look at the screens, I’ve gotta say I’m truly excited to see what Ubisoft and Cameron are brining to the table. Now go check out the vids I’ve found as well as the subsequent screenshots!

So it’s Monday and I finally get to talk to you about my hands-on time with Prototype.

Now, especially since it’s been announced that there will be no demo available before release, previews and write-ups will be all that anyone will have to make the decision on whether or not to part with some hard earned cash for the game.

It all began in New York City…

So Ive Played Prototype And... prototype Lazygamer

Yesterday, I was given the chance to head down to Megarom’s offices in Johannesburg and get some hands on time with the heavily anticipated and upcoming open-world destroy-everything-em-up, Prototype.

I was given the chance to play through the first two missions and get a feel for the game as well as the world that surrounds it. Unfortunately, we have a a pinky-swear agreement that prevents the preview from going up today.

Look out for our full preview on Monday morning, you won’t want to miss it.

P.S – I elbow-dropped a tank, hells yeah!

Tony Hawk Rides in on a Wireless Skate Deck – that’s right, drop your controllers and jump on a deck!

Faheem - May 20th, 2009 at 7:00 am - 178 Views - No Comments (be the first)

So once again Activision has set to get fans of the Tony Hawk franchise pulling off all their favorite tricks on a deck with four wheels. Even though a cause for concern would be the absence of Neversoft behind the game however with names like Robomodo and Buzz Monkey (Tomb Raider: Underworld)as the developers, a multi-platform release (yeah that’s PS3, Xbox360 and Nintendo Wii) and launching the new wireless and full-sized skate deck, the game is definitely going to turn some heads and quite possibly sprain some ankles.

Dragon Age: Origin’s Sex & Violence Trailer

Dieter Fouche - May 14th, 2009 at 9:00 am - 416 Views - One Comment

For me, this is one I’m overly excited about. The RPG makers BioWare being thrown together with the action-junkies EA, is about as exciting as the announcement of brandy flavoured Coca-Cola! Actually, why hasn’t anyone announced that yet? I don’t know.

Well, these guys have created a rather fabulous trailer for their upcoming game Dragon Age: Origins; dubbed “Sex & Violence”, it could be very well one of the best trailers I’ve ever seen — the Marilyn Manson certainly doesn’t hurt. I’m gonna shut up now and simply allow you to be as amazed as I was with this video…

So sit back, buckle up and get ready to start salivating:

Stop…Singularity Time!

If you haven’t heard of this game, go take a look as soon as you put down your cup of coffee and get back from the bathroom. It’s fine, don’t be ashamed, everyone does it. Anyway, like I was saying, this is one game I’m sweaty in the palms about. When you put the guys behind Quake 4, Soldier of Fortune, X-Men: Legends and the new Wolfenstein together, you’re bound to have a hit on your hands. With this one they’ve opted to stick to what they’re good at, and that is none other than a good ol’ FPS. But what sets this one apart from the others is its unique feature…Time Manipulation. I know, I know…Timeshift, right? That’s what you wanted to say? But I’m talking about a game that actually does something creative with the whole Time Manipulation game, not one that simply uses a broken gimmick and slaps it onto some stylized cover art. Lazygamer Hands-On Preview – Bionic Commando

BCheader.jpg

The idea of being a Commando, and simultaneously wielding a super-strong bionic arm is something that reeks of awesome, now isn’t it?

Bionic Commando, as many of you will know is a remake of the original 2D action-platformer of the same name, but blasts it’s way into the next generation of gaming in a flurry of 3D graphics and dreadlocked hair.

Just a short while ago, we did a Live Q&A of the game with our readers, where anyone could ask questions and have them answered by us as we were playing, so if you want to check that out before reading on, click here .

Take the jump to find out more about what this remake has to offer as well see some gameplay footage from the upcoming title.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX – Hands On Preview

Nick de Bruyne - February 9th, 2009 at 12:00 pm - 228 Views - 5 Comments

HAWXheader.jpg

That’s right ladies and gents, we have spent all weekend fighting dogs, launching foxes and picking off bogeys and now comes the time where we get to tell you all about it. So why have Ubisoft opted to release a jet fighter title, when Ace Combat is already out there and there is so much other potential to be unleashed with the Tom Clancy brand?

Well I have figured it out, so bare with me for a short while:

Imagine for a moment that instead of being a huge publishing company, Ubisoft was actually just a guy sitting drinking a case of beer with a friend whilst sitting next to a fire.

You pictured it yet? Good.
