Dead Space 2 First Look: Scary + Awesome = Scary Awesome

Dead Space 2 First Look: Scary + Awesome = Scary Awesome DeadSpace2fweep Lazygamer

Games Radar have gotten a first look at Dead Space 2 and while the game is still pretty far from finished, it’s looking mighty impressive.

Dead Space 2 will take place in a mining colony on the rings of Saturn and happens 3 years after the events from the first game. There are new features, new weapons and most importantly, new things to brown your pants and tear your limbs from your body.

I still have to finish the first game, but I’m still being a pansy about it, but now that the second game is coming it’s pushing me to carry on, damn it.

Full preview can be found here .

Jeff Green Confirms Dead Space 2 For PC By Mistake? Dead Space 2 1 Lazygamer

Update:

Has EA’s Jeff Green just slipped some news out by mistake?

Green has updated his Twitter account saying

“Fact checking my fact check: Dead Space 2 PC is just “Under Consideration.” DOH I’m just an excitable PC dork. Should I start the petition”

Earlier when told about the SKU being “under consideration” he tweeted that the news “Definitely clashes with my info.”

Did Mr. Green just let something slip by mistake? I think he may have.

Like many other people, I have spent a lot of this past week playing the heck out of Mass Effect 2.

One of the interesting new additions to the game is the ability to interrupt certain conversations with a Renegade or Paragon action. This got me thinking… who else has made good use of this wonderful ability?

Hit the link for the full comic image.

Aliens Vs Predator: Hands On Preview So... An Alien, A Marine And A Predator Walk Into A Bar... AvP Header Lazygamer

The Aliens vs Predator videogame franchise has been going for quite some time and has always had a very decent following. This, due to the fact that they have all been pretty good not to mention that the multiplayer modes were some of the best in the business.

Movies have also surfaced over the last couple of years using the same title but don’t be fooled as the videogames are not some sort of licensed attempt at a silver screen to videogame console conversion, these babies have been going for a while now.

With the new title’s release on the horizon, we’ve had hands on time with the game to find out if this next offering is worthy of it’s predecessors’ good name.

Early Preview: Red Dead Redemption Part 1 RDRfeature1 Lazygamer

Last week Friday I was lucky enough to be invited to an early preview of Rockstar’s upcoming open world western, Red Dead Redemption, which is the sequel to it’s 2004 release Red Dead Revolver.

Red Dead Redemption is a huge open world, free roaming western-styled sandbox game. You play as John Marston, a partially reformed outlaw who attempted to get away from a career of crime by living out his days peacefully on his ranch with his family.

That was until the Bureau (future FBI) arrived with a request that he couldn’t turn down… the line between good and evil is about to be obliterated.

Couriers Letting Powercare Down? A Local Tells Us His Story PowercareDelivery Lazygamer

Have you had a red ring of death? Have you had to deal with Powercare lately? If so, has it gone smoothly?

I received an e-mail this morning from a local Xbox 360 owner who had just gone through a major ordeal when trying to get his Xbox 360 swapped out with Powercare. From the looks of things, Powercare were actually really good with their service but the couriers were the ones completely screwing everything up.

So who is actually to blame. I received permission to post up the entire letter, so give it a read and then tell us what your experiences have been.

P.S: Kudos to Bernice from Powercare, seems like she did a great job.

Lazygamer Wet Demo: Hands On Preview Wethandson Lazygamer

So as you have already heard, the demo for Wet is available to download on the Xbox 360 and we have gotten our hands on it to bring you a hands-on with the upcoming action flick, I mean game.

Wet borrows its style from a mixture of Tarantino movies, with a specific nod to Kill Bill as your very angry gun and sword wielding leading lady Rubi takes out anything in her path with a gritty 80’s Grindhouse sort of feeling.

Find out if we think if this game is going to be a Royale With Cheese or not.

Insider Info: Project Natal Pricing Revealed NatalPrice Lazygamer

So we have all seen what the Project Natal can do (although we are being told that we ain’t seen nothin’ yet) and it looks set to change the way that we look at gaming in the future.

Well, that’s what Microsoft is hoping for.

Microsoft want us to all add one onto our Xbox 360 and we all want to see what it can really do, so the main question then has to be: How much will it cost?

E3 2009: James Cameron’s Avatar Interview

E3 2009: James Camerons Avatar Interview 200906061650 Lazygamer

The Avatar game, if you don’t already know is based on James Cameron’s new sci-fi film. Cameron is the mastermind behind such awesome film titles as Terminator (1 & 2), Aliens and loads of other awesomeness, while Ubisoft develops the game version.

The Avatar game is said to take the player into the very heart of an amazingly designed alien planet known as Pandora. The official PR line of the game states that,

“Gamers will encounter the Na’vi, Pandora’s indigenous people and discover other life forms the likes of which have never been seen in the world of video games before. When conflict erupts between the RDA Corporation, a space-faring consortium in search of valuable resources, and the Na’vi, gamers will find themselves thrust into a fight for the heart of a planet and the fate of a civilization.”

After watching the vids and taking a look at the screens, I’ve gotta say I’m truly excited to see what Ubisoft and Cameron are brining to the table. Now go check out the vids I’ve found as well as the subsequent screenshots!

So it’s Monday and I finally get to talk to you about my hands-on time with Prototype.

Now, especially since it’s been announced that there will be no demo available before release, previews and write-ups will be all that anyone will have to make the decision on whether or not to part with some hard earned cash for the game.

It all began in New York City…

So Ive Played Prototype And... prototype Lazygamer

Yesterday, I was given the chance to head down to Megarom’s offices in Johannesburg and get some hands on time with the heavily anticipated and upcoming open-world destroy-everything-em-up, Prototype.

I was given the chance to play through the first two missions and get a feel for the game as well as the world that surrounds it. Unfortunately, we have a a pinky-swear agreement that prevents the preview from going up today.

Look out for our full preview on Monday morning, you won’t want to miss it.

P.S – I elbow-dropped a tank, hells yeah!

PS3 vs. Xbox360. The battle for the title is now! exclusives sony ps3 vs xbox 360 Lazygamer

The ongoing battle between Microsoft and Sony is one that shall not be resolved in the near future, I promise you that. In between the heated arguments and accusations on which is the better console, the ammunition is endless. Today, however, I decided to sift through all the fanboy bantering and focus on a single bullet…exclusivity.

Since their release, both consoles have enjoyed quite a few big names in exclusivity, and today we are going to take a look at their line ups, and decide once and for all, who has the better menu. So kick back in your favourite lazy-boy reclining chair, get yourself a beer (or a juice, depending on your age) and…leets geeeeeet reeeeeady toooooooo ruuuuuuumble!

Tony Hawk Rides in on a Wireless Skate Deck – that’s right, drop your controllers and jump on a deck!

Faheem - May 20th, 2009 at 7:00 am - 179 Views - No Comments (be the first)

So once again Activision has set to get fans of the Tony Hawk franchise pulling off all their favorite tricks on a deck with four wheels. Even though a cause for concern would be the absence of Neversoft behind the game however with names like Robomodo and Buzz Monkey (Tomb Raider: Underworld)as the developers, a multi-platform release (yeah that’s PS3, Xbox360 and Nintendo Wii) and launching the new wireless and full-sized skate deck, the game is definitely going to turn some heads and quite possibly sprain some ankles.
